Oxford Üniversitesi, St Antony's College'da Türk Dış Politikası üzerine çalışmalar yapan Dr. Philip Robins ile Gazze Savaşı sürecinde Türk dış politikasını değerlendireceğiz.

Dr Philip Robins is the University Lecturer in politics with special reference to the Middle East, and a Fellow of St Antony's College, Oxford. He is currently the St Antony's Senior Tutor, and sits ex officio on the College’s executive committee. Before joining Oxford, 12 years ago, Dr Robins was the Head of the Middle East Programme at the Royal Institute of International Affairs, Chatham House, Britain's leading foreign affairs think tank, where he spent eight years. He has also taught at the University of Exeter, and worked for The Guardian and the BBC in the Middle East. He received his doctorate in 1988, the title of the thesis being ‘The Consolidation of Hashemite Power in Jordan’.
Dr Robins' most recent book publications are A History of Jordan (Cambridge University Press, 2004) and Suits & Uniforms. Turkish Foreign Policy Since the Cold War (Hurst/University of Washington Press, 2003). A Turkish translation of the latter (with a new, expanded introduction) is currently in production, and a translation in Greek has already been published. Dr Robins is currently the recipient of a British Academy grant to work on illegal drugs issues in Turkey and Europe. He has also published extensively in academic and policy oriented journals on different aspects of the politics and international relations of the contemporary Middle East. Recent scholarly articles include such subjects as public policymaking in Saudi Arabia, illicit drugs in Jordan, and Turkish-US relations comparing the 1970s opium crisis with the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Dr Robins' involvement with the Middle East extends beyond the purely academic. Some of his past activities include: consultancies with the specialist UN anti-drugs agency in Vienna; writing a column for the Beirut-based Daily Star newspaper; sitting on the Middle East committees of two UK charities; special adviser to the House of Commons Foreign Affairs Committee; consultant to a number of companies and governments, including the Chase Manhattan Bank and MITI, Japan; member of the Bertelsmann Foundation Task Forces on Iraq, 2002-04. He is a current member of the Governing Body of the British Institute in Ankara. He delivered the 2005 annual lecture of the British Society of Middle East Studies.
