Scenarist and Thinker: Ayşe Şasa
The Center for Art Studies is organizing a panel titled “Scenarist and Thinker: Ayşe Şasa” on April 19th, 2014. The panel will be held under the moderation of Barış Saydam, and Celil Civan, Murat Pay and Meltem Sevindi will be respective speakers.
Mathematics and Metaphysic
Ayhan Çitil
Organized by Centre for Civilizational Research, this month's third speaker for the series Tezgahtakiler is Ayhan Çitil. Çitil will make a presentation about the ontological status of mathematical object in Kantian philosophy. After showing the limitations Kant-orientied philosophy of mathematics, Çitil will develop a object-oriented philosophy of mathematics in the light of new theories in the field of math. The speech will be conducted in Turkish.
Tanzimat and Metahistory: Poetics of Namık Kemal’s Historical Narratives

On April 12nd 2014, Center for Art Studies will host Emrah Pelvanoğlu* under the Kırkambar Dissertations and Articles. Pelvanoğlu will deliver a speech “Tanzimat and Metahistory: Poetics of Namık Kemal’s Historical Narratives” based on his doctoral thesis. The event will be held in Şakir Kocabaş Hall of the Foundation for Sciences and Arts at 18:00.
