Avusturalya Melbourne La Trobe Universitesi öğretim üyelerinden Prof. Michális S. Michael ile Türkiye-Avusturalya ilişkilerinin geleceği üzerine konuşacağız.
Michális S. Michael: Currently, Deputy Director of the Centre for Dialogue at La Trobe University, Melbourne, Australia. Short Biography Born to Cypriot immigrant parents, Michális S. Michael grew up in the elusive diasporic topography of London, Cyprus and Australia. A refugee of 1974, after drifting between university studies and labour intesive job, he became engaged in what ostensibly could be descripbed as "practicing politics". His eventual exodus from "politics", saw him gravitate towards academia with the innovative Centre for Dialogue at La Trobe University. He has extensive experience in multicultural and inter-religious dialogue. Michális has dedicated much of his professional research examining the tensions between Greek- and Turkish-Cypriot communities in Cyprus and abroad, as well as other ethnic and Diaspora communities. He is a weekly political commentator on 3XY Radio, an occasional broadcaster for 3ZZZ ethnic radio, is an occasional political commentator for media outlets such as SBS, ABC Radio National and Voice of America. He currently coordinates the Dialogue Diaspora project, and is involved with the Muslim Leadership Project. As research fellow Michael has been involved with cutting edge projects that straddle the disciplinary terrains of culture, politics, conflict and power (e.g. 'Australia's handling of tensions between Islam and the West since September 11', 'International Conflict, Religion and Culture', 'Dialogue Diaspora', 'Developing an Interfaith/Intercultural Network for Melbourne's Northern Region'. Dr Michael's publications include: Cyprus in the Modern World (Vanias Press, 2005), Asia-Pacific Geopolitics: Hegemony versus Human Security, (co-editor, Edward Elgar, 2007), Europe between Islam and the United States (co-editor, Global Change, Peace & Security, 2008), Civilizational Dialogue and World Order: The Other Politics of Cultures, Religions and Civilizations in International Relations (Palgrave Macmillan 2009); Negotiating History: Resolving the Cyprus Conflict (Palgrave Macmillan, 2009). http://www.latrobe.edu.au/dialogue/staff-profiles/michael-research.html
